My Journey with Turtles and Tortoises

I’m Kyle, the lifelong turtle keeper behind The Tortoise Spot, based in Southern California. My journey began at just 13 years old when I brought home my first three-toed box turtle—and I was instantly hooked.

Now, at 37, turtles and tortoises remain at the heart of my life, guiding over two decades of hands-on care, rescues, and learning. My logo’s motto—“Turtles, Tortoises, Family”—is more than a slogan: it’s my promise to treat these incredible animals, and the people who love them, like family.

The Tortoise Spot exists to educate, inspire, and welcome newcomers into the hobby. Whether you’re choosing your first tortoise, setting up an outdoor habitat, or searching for reliable care tips, my goal is to make turtle and tortoise keeping accessible, ethical, and rewarding.

Thank you for stopping in on the website. I am always working on the site and am a 1 man band. Thanks for being patient and mostly thank you for caring about turtles and tortoises.
